We believe that Jesus was born in a special way called the Incarnation. This means He was born as a human but was still one with God. He was God in the world as Jesus of Nazareth.
We also believe that Jesus was fully human. He experienced everything we do, like temptation, tiredness, sadness, and anger. Jesus shows us what it means to be a mature human being.
When we say “Jesus Christ,” we mean Jesus is the Messiah, God’s Anointed One. The early church believed Jesus was the one chosen by God to bring salvation to all people.
We call Jesus our Lord because we give our allegiance to Him. We submit to His authority and believe He is in charge of the world.
We believe Jesus is our Savior, the one who frees us from sin and gives us eternal life. This is called atonement, our reconciliation with God. Jesus did this through His sacrifice on the cross and His victory over sin and death in the Resurrection.
